I love this shot of Josie sniffing out field mice with her cute tail in the air. The fall trees and horses look so pretty in the background. I didn’t love the gloomy sky and lack of golden sunlight that day. This is shy I love photoshop so much…

Meet Duffy. She was VERY camera shy. She wasn’t scared of me, just my camera. I think she was the shyest dog I’ve photographed yet! After a lot of treats and her mom helping me, I managed to get some nice shots. She is so cute!

Duffy has an awesome new fall necklace.

Hanging out on the porch swing…

Duffy and Callaway support the Hogs! Notice the cute Razorback collars they both have on.

This is Callaway. His parents are both golfers, which was the inspiration for his name. He wasn’t at all scared of the camera. He became my buddy when he figured out I had treats on me.

He enjoys lounging on his parents’ bed.

He also loves playing with his frog toy.

It was very nice meeting Callaway and Duffy. They are such cuties!

Thanks for a fun shoot Lucy!
I recently learned about this act from a friend’s blog and I just had to repost. This is so cool. I hope it passes! Click HERE to read more about the Happy Act and sign the petition.

I had a really fun shoot in Rogers last weekend with 4 dogs. They were all different shapes, sizes, and personalities!
Max kept wanting to get right up in the camera lens which made it difficult to get anything but super close up shots. I finally figured out a way to trick him by tossing a treat up on the deck while I was down on the steps. :)

I think I was making a weird noise to get Max’s attention which is why he has the extreme head tilt going on here.

Mikka has such pretty eyes! She totally hammed it up for the camera and was a great little model.

Yummy head wrinkles.

Milo was so sweet and friendly.

Streeeeetch…

Last but not least is little Maddie, the smallest of the family. She is definitely her momma’s baby!

Little Maddie lost an eye to glaucoma, so she now has a prosthetic one. It’s attached to the nerves and muscles so it moves around just like her other eye. I could barley even tell! I thought this was pretty amazing. When Maddie isn’t being held by her mom, she LOVES to sunbathe on the porch.

Thanks for such a fun shoot Nicole. You and your husband have a beautiful group of dogs!
I am sad to learn that Joe crossed over the rainbow bridge today. He belonged to the Kimbro family, who I had the honor of meeting a few months ago when I photographed him. He lived for 17 wonderful years. I think he must have lived so long because he was so happy and loved. Joe had 4 legs, but only 3 paws. You would think that would slow a dog down, but not Joe! Although I only spent about an hour with him, that was long enough to see how much he loved his humans (and cheese!) I can only hope that my dogs will live to be 17. Joe was blessed to have such wonderful people as owners.

Melissa and Karen – I’m thinking of you and your family. I’m so sorry for your loss.
I was on the radio!

I was recently interviewed for a segment on KUAF, our local NPR affiliate. The topic was “From Unemployment to Small Business.” I was so nervous about hearing myself on the radio, but my friend Marci did a wonderful job putting this piece together. She is very talented at what she does, and I am so glad we got to work together on this. It aired Monday morning on KUAF. Have a listen HERE!
The voice you hear at the very end of the segment is Macy and Winston’s mom, Jennifer.
Special thanks to Marci and Jennifer!
I’m honored to have photographed Frank Broyles for a feature article in Rural Arkansas Magazine, a monthly publication by the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas. Coach Broyles is well known for his work with Razorback Athletics and coaching football for the University of Arkansas. At 85 years old, he hasn’t slowed down a bit. He is now working to raise awareness and education about Alzheimer’s. This is a cause important to Mr. Broyles and his family since he lost his wife, Barbara, to the disease in 2004. He has published a book called Coach Broyles’ Playbook for Alzheimer’s Caregivers. The book is full of practical advice and tips for Alzheimer’s caregivers. Click below to read the article and see a few photos I took.
Special thanks to Amy and Sheila for contacting me to do this. Sheila – The article is beautifully written. I’m so glad I got to work with you!
I was lucky enough to get a signed copy of his book! He knows my grandfather which is why he used my maiden last name. Oh well…it’s still so cool!
